My personal RX-8 will be taking some time off the road and become my next long-term project. I will be swapping in a 13B-REW from a 3rd generation FD RX-7. The RX-8 Renesis engine is high revving and smooth but leaves a lot to be desired in reliability and actual horsepower. The Renesis is also not very tolerant to boost due to its seal design and high compression (10:1) rotors, often cracking front irons at the 300hp mark. The turbocharged FD engines are proven to be reliable and can be built to any power level. My goal with this build will be 400-450hp and will complement the superior handling capabilities of the RX-8 chassis.
